Valentines / Fairy sized Snowman

How lovely it was to wake up to a winter wonderland this morning!

There's something magical about a snow day.... 

The sugarplum fairy was a busy bee last night for sure!

As I was having my breakfast I had a Little idea, 

I decided to try my hand at making a fairy sized snowman! I went on a scavenger

Hunt around the house looking for tiny things I could use to decorate him.

I found a tiny plastic hat off a teddy, a few green sprinkles I used as buttons, I broke a chocolate chip into tiny pieces and used them for his eyes and smile. I used an orange sprinkle for his Lil nose, the scarf I borrowed off a teddy and I used two tiny twigs for his arms.You could easily use frozen peas for his buttons 

and cut the tiny tip off the end of a carrot for his nose but I didn't have any, he turned out beyond adorable none the less! I had some heart shaped  Valentines confetti so I gave him a littlest heart :-),

When the kids see him they will think that the fairies made him while They were in school :-). If it snows again tonight I'm going to use barbie to make fairy sized

 'Snow Angels' LOL

So cute...So fun...So easy to do, the kids will be amazed!!!

Valentines day is fast approaching, it's not just for couples in love It's for everyone.  A day to let your nearest and dearest know that you love them! The kids have decided that our Fairy Fleur must love living in our House and love us, because she decorated her door and window for valentines day :-),

I love it! I made a tiny card and have some valentines heart shaped confetti. On Valentines morning I will sprinkle some confetti outside the Door and leave the little Valentines card from Fleur our fairy on the Door step for the kids to find! 

So loving the fairy magic, I hope you all are too!

Fairy Merry Christmas - Part 3

We're expecting a flurry of snow here any day now :-) so I was thinking what a perfect time to make a 'Fairy Snow Globe'. These are so easy to make and are super cute!

I used a mini glass corked bottle To make ours, if you can't find them you can use a mini jam .  

Here's exactly what you'll need:

-  Some Christmas figurines 

-  A tiny jar or bottle

-  A pinch of fairy dust or dried coconut

-  Some sparkle shapes, I used stars.

-  water

-  super glue

If you are lucky enough to have a 'Michaels' Craft store near you I Know you'll pick all you need and more up there.  If not have a look Around the larger supermarkets in their Christmas cake decoration section. Also in their stationary section, that's where I found these Supplies.

Place a bit of glue on the base of your chosen figurines and stick them to the base of the bottle/jar.  Once they are stuck and the glue has dried sprinkle the fairy dust and sparkles inside the jar.  Fill the jar  with water.  Pop the lid on and shake it up, so cute and so Adorable!

Leave it outside the Fairy Door for the kids to find..... :-)

Fairy Merry Christmas - Part 2 -

Hoping you all had Fairy Merry Christmas & are having a magical New Year!

The fairy workshop was so busy before Christmas that I didn't have a moment to update the blog with some seasonal fairy inspiration.  So

The next two blog posts will be Christmas themed so you can be inspired and organised for next Christmas :-)

Firstly I have to thank Kylie from the wonderful company 'nic nac nappy wrap' (www.nic-nac.com.au) for sending me some of their Amazing  'Fairy Eggs'

When they arrived I was beyond excited and unbelievably intrigued! I couldn't Waite to leave them outside the fairy door for the kids to find on Christmas Morning.

Here's how the 'Fairy Eggs' look when they arrive.

So Christmas morning came and this is what the kids found outside our little Fairy door!

A sprinkling of  Magical fairy snow and a sea shell filled with 'Fairy Eggs'

Along with a tiny Christmas card from 'Fleur' our fairy wishing them a wonderful Christmas. Inside the card was detailed instructions on  how to play with these magical 'Fairy Eggs' presents all the way from Fairyland!

Once all the Santa presents were opened we set about making the magic happen, here's how we got on!

We emptied half of the sachet of 'Fairy Eggs' into a glass Jar and filled

It with water.

We left it on the kitchen counter all day, every couple of hours we'd took a lil peek,  after one hour they looked like this:

We could see they were clearly starting to grow.....

We were all blown away by how much they had grown in approx.6hours it was amazing like magic they had grown over 100 times their original size!

Beyond too much fun, they are bouncy and slippery, we emptied them all into a basin and the kids had fun sorting them into colours, playing marbles with them and counting them. The best thing about them is once your finished playing with them you just place them on a paper towel and like magic over night they shrink back to there original teenie tiny size. So easy to store away to grown and play with another day.   Magical....... & her husband to enjoy. Too funny I love it!

Fairy Merry Christmas.....

We would like to wish you all a 'Fairy Merry Christmas & A Magical New Year'..........

 

The fairy workshop was crazy busy this December so we didn't get a minute to update the blog with some fairy Christmas inspiration & ideas. So when we come back in Jan '13 we will do our Christmas posts, so you can get a head start on Christmas 2013!!!! :)),  If your having Christmas cake this year hang onto the tiny plastic figurines and trees that usually sit all pretty on top of the icing on your cake.  You'll need them for the first Christmas blog.

 

It's Official 'Paddy' the Leprechaun from New Jersey, New York sets the bar for holiday decorations check out how he has 'decked the halls this year' My gosh!!! AdOrBs..... if outside looks this amazing can you only imagine what behind the door looks like!

 

Isn't that the cutest tree EvEr.. the tiny tiny lights! I wonder whats in the parcel?

Fairy sized 'TrIcK oR TrEaTeRs'

Only two days to go before the BIG NIGHT! So I was thinking what could I do with our fairy door for Halloween night?  Since the arrival of the fairy sized Halloween decorations the kids have been keeping a very close eye on our fairy doors, hoping to catch a glimpse of some fairy sized visitors! I mean why else would our fairy have decorate her front door if she wasn't expecting some fairy sized Trick or Treaters :),

Here's what I have put together to leave outside our fairy door on Halloween night for the kids to find! I can not Waite to see their little faces :),

I hollowed out a real walnut, in one half of the shell I put some fairy sized candies (mini smarties), tied both halves back together with orange ribbon, To finish it off I made a tiny Bat shaped gift tag and wrote on it  'Trick or Treat'.

                                       

In another hollowed out walnut shell I placed some webbing and a tiny black plastic spider, for the other half of the shell I painted the inside with a little pva glue and sprinkled it with glitter (Any excuse for a bit of sparkle!) like the other walnut I tied both halves back together with some orange ribbon and finished it off with a tiny Bat gift tag that says 'Trick or Treat' .

                                          

I will leave these outside the fairy door on Halloween night for the kids to find, one walnut being a TrIcK and the other a TrEaT!



If you wanted you could just fill one half of a hollowed out walnut shell with some mini smarties, then make a tiny sign that says 'Please take one HaPpY HaLLoWeEn' stick the sign to a match stick and stick it in among the mini smarties :),

Fairy Pumpkin Carraige

HaLLoWeEn is Almost here, YeA!!! We've bought our pumpkins and are ready to carve them over the weekend, All ready for our trick or treaters on Halloween Night!!

 

Most years we just carve the pumpkins, place a candle inside and place them on our front porch.  Most of the time the candle blows out, by Halloween night they've already started to wilt and are covered with mold.  The kids are always so excited to draw the jack o lantern face and make them, but reality of it is that I end up doing all the carving and hollowing out of the pumpkins and the kids loose interest after 5mins!

 

This year I decided to try painting and decorating our pumpkin instead, I'm telling you my carving pumpkin days are over :),

 

Myself and the kids came up with the idea of doing a fairy themed pumpkin this year.  So we decided to try our hands at making a fairy pumpkin carriage.  The kids were beyond excited to do this Jay who's 8yrs old painted the pumpkin, I drew the windows and door and helped a little with the glue and glitter, Molly who is 5yrs old made and coloured in the wheels.  It was great fun! The kids we're so proud of what we had made they even brought it into school to show their teachers.

 

It was so easy to do here's how we did it:

Here's what you will need:

- One pumpkin

- 1 x Sheet of card paper

- Paint & a Paint Brush

- PVA glue

- Sellotape

- 2 x Cocktail Sticks

- Glitter

- Sissors

- Markers

 Draw two circles on the sheet of card paper and cut them out.

 

 

Colour both of them in using the markers, we used orange but the colour is up to you. Using the  PVA glue outline the spokes of the wheel.  Sprinkle the glitter over the PVA glue lines, then shake off any excess glitter.  This is what you should be left with, something that resembles a wheel:

Using a black marker draw two windows and a door onto the side of the pumpkin. Then Paint the rest of the pumpkin. Ours took two coats of paint! Just make sure to paint around the outline of the windows and door, Don't paint the stalk of the pumpkin!

 

Once the paint is dry, outline the windows and door using the PVA glue, Sprinkle the glitter over the PVA glue lines, then shake off any excess glitter.

We glittered the pumpkins stalk, just paint the stalk with PVA                  glue sprinkle it with glitter and shake off the excess.

Soooo Sparkley......

We used some sellotape and cocktail sticks to attach the carriage wheels to the pumpkin.

 

 

TaDa!!! A pumpkin Fit for a Fairy.....

 

 

Here is our Pumpkin taking pride of place beside our Fairy Door. The kids insisted on buying some white chocolate mice, so that the fairies could change them into footmen(So cute!) Unfortunately Max our dog ate them :),

The kids are convinced that fleur our fairy has taken our Fairy pumpkin carriage for a spin. LOL

HaLlOwEeN - getting into the spirit of the SpOoKy SeAsOn

Halloween is almost upon us!!! So exciting... we've been busy bees decorating the house for Halloween,  Last week we received an email from our friend Cindy.  You may remember Cindy from our St. Patricks day Blog! A Leprechaun named Paddy moved in to their Home just before St. Patricks day last year.

Since his arrival he's been busy settling into and decorating his new home.  Last week Cindy like us decorated her home for Halloween. Later that week tiny tools and a pair of the smallest wellington boots appeared outside Paddy's little green door.  The kid's and Cindy we intrigued! They wondered what the heck he was up to.

A few days later they final got to see what Paddy had been so busy doing. Paddy had decorated his house for Halloween!! With the sweetest little Halloween decorations u ever did see, Check them out!

 Cindy's kids are convinced that Paddy must be expecting some Fairy sized Trick or Treaters on all Hallows Eve, WOW :),

I asked Cindy if she wouldn't mind sending Paddy a letter, asking him to remind our Fairy Fleur to decorate her house! Cindy did and Fleur our fairy decorated her house too!  The kids were gob smacked when they happened upon the little decorated fairy door! Too Stinkin Cute....
